2022 St. Petersburg Walkathon

Silverliners

Our Florida Gulf Coast chapter of Silverliners, a Flight Attendant club, has been a part of the Walkathon fundraising for Southeastern Guide Dogs for many years.  With donations from our friends and families, we have had great success at supporting this amazing organization!  By fundraising a specific minimum each year, or exceeding it, we have been honored to name eight guide dog puppies so far. Naturally we chose aviation themed names: Jet, Stew, Pilot, Sky, Silver, Aero, Captain and Boeing!!

We know first-hand that Southeastern Guide Dogs breeds, raises, and trains some of the finest guide dogs and service dogs in the world.  One of our chapter members is a Puppy Raiser for SEGD and is currently caring for her second future super-hero. The puppies are adorable, but to witness these incredible dogs in training is nothing short of miraculous. Thanks to the intelligence and fine training of these dogs, people with vision loss, veterans with disabilities, and children facing significant challenges find the freedom, confidence, and independence they need.

When Silverliners learned that Southeastern Guide Dogs relies 100% on private donations and doesn't charge students and veterans for their services, we knew we could help them with their mission.  For 8 years we have participated in their biggest fundraiser of the year, the Walkathon. Our team has set a goal of $5,000 this year and we hope to exceed it in a big way.  With your help, we will be able to contribute to the life changing mission of Southeastern Guide Dogs. Thanks for your support!
