AFFN and FIS have proudly and generously supported Southeastern Guide Dogs (GuideDogs.org) and their mission for the last decade.
AFFN expanded our family to include a future superhero! On behalf Armed Forces Bank, The Giles Family, and every Association of Military Banks of America - AMBA Bank and Defense Credit Union Council Credit Union AFFN Participant, AFFN adopted a service guide dog in honor and in memory of Mrs. Emilie B. Giles, a dear friend who lost her courageous battle to cancer.
Did you know that Southeastern Guide Dogs breeds, raises, and trains some of the finest guide dogs and service dogs in the world? The puppies are adorable, but to witness these amazing dogs in training is nothing short of miraculous. Thanks to the intelligence and fine training of these dogs, people with vision loss and veterans with disabilities find the freedom, confidence, and independence they need.
Our Emilie was born on 22 September 2019. She has graduated from puppy pre-school and is engaged with her in-field training with a few years of schooling still ahead. She is doing fantastic in her training and we could not be prouder!
One day soon, she’ll be freedom.
One day soon, she’ll be confidence.
Southeastern Guide Dogs relies 100% on private donations, receives no government funding, and doesn't charge students and veterans for their services. Because of the amazing work by Southeastern Guide Dogs, we decided to participate in their biggest fundraiser of the year, the Walkathon. We've formed a team and set an ambitious Walkathon fundraising goal and are excited to contribute to the life changing mission of Southeastern Guide Dogs.
