St. Petersburg VIRTUAL Walkathon

The Florida Gulf Coast chapter of SilverlIners would like to introduce you to SKY.  She was born in August of 2019 and is now in Puppy Kindergarten at the SEGD Palmetto campus.  Soon she will be placed with a Puppy Raiser and she will spend over a year learning the behaviors and socialization necessary to make it to the next step in training. That happens at about 14 months of age or so, when SKY will return to the SEGD campus and participate in an advanced level of guide dog and service dog training. Someday, because of her talent and training, SKY will be able to assist her specially assigned human handler live a new and rewarding life.

Little SKY is the fourth puppy that our SIlverliner Flight Attendant Club has named, after we succeeded at reaching our Walkathon Fundraising goals. Keeping with the airline theme, the first three puppies we named: JET, STEW and PILOT.

Southeastern Guide Dogs breeds, raises, and trains some of the finest guide dogs and service dogs in the world. The puppies are adorable, but to witness these amazing dogs in training is nothing short of miraculous. Thanks to the intelligence and fine training of these dogs, people with vision loss and veterans with disabilities find the freedom, confidence, and independence they need.

When we learned that Southeastern Guide Dogs relies 100% on private donations, receives no government funding, and doesn't charge students and veterans for their services, we committed to making Southeastern Guide Dogs our Silverliners chapter charity.

For the 6th year in a row, FGC Silverliners are fundraising for the Walkathon to support this amazing cause. Won't you please donate to help us help Southeastern Guide Dogs change the world, one Superhero Dog at a time?  Thanks for your support!
