Welcome to My Personal Page

I've set an ambitious Walkathon fundraising goal of $5,000, the fee to sponsor 1 pup, in Honor of my father, Maj. Edwin J. Sullivan, USAF who served 30 years; WWII, and Vietnam, retiring in 1968 as a Maintenance Officer at MacDill AFB. In his golden years, he gradually lost his vision and independence due to Macular Degeneration. It was difficult watching this very active robust man, deminish to the recliner and the TV for comfort. There were no "service dogs" in those days.
I am proud to be part of Southeastern Guide Dogs as a Volunteer Puppy Raiser 3 times, and waiting for number 4!
As a Puppy Raiser, I help to educate the public about this INTERNATIONALLY recognized organization for their....
Breeding, Raising, and Training of some of the finest: guide dogs, service dogs, and skilled companion dogs IN THE WORLD!
Thanks to the intelligence and fine training of these dogs;
- people with vision loss
- veterans with disabilities
- children with significant challenges ....
ALL..find the freedom, confidence, and independence they need, and AT NO COST to them!
Southeastern Guide Dogs relies 100% on private donations, and receives NO government funding!
Most people don't realize for ONE PUP, the COSTS INCURED, are nearly $60,000.00 dollars from breeding through placement.
These COSTS don't include the outlay of money by VOLUNTEER puppy raisers who also believe in this mission:
- PUPPY RAISERS, take an 8 week old puppy into their homes and TRAIN THEM, 24hrs.-7 days a week for up to 16 months.
- PUPPY RAISERS donate their money and time for : food, toys, bedding, hygeine, meetings (weekly- monthly), daily outings, vet RX's.
