Welcome to My Pawsitivity Page

In 2017, when I learned that Southeastern Guide Dogs relies 100% on private donations, receives no government funding, and doesn't charge for their dogs or services, I decided to participate in their biggest fundraiser of the year, the Walkathon. My team and I have participated every year since and I've set an ambitious Walkathon fundraising goal and am excited to contribute to the life changing mission of Southeastern Guide Dogs yet again in 2021!
Did you know that Southeastern Guide Dogs breeds, raises, and trains some of the finest guide dogs, service dogs, and skilled companion dogs in the world? The puppies are adorable, but to witness these amazing dogs in training is nothing short of miraculous. Thanks to the intelligence and fine training of these dogs, people with vision loss, veterans with disabilities, and children with significant challenges find the freedom, confidence, and independence they need.
In 2017 I lead a fundraising initiative for the Walkathon and our team raised enough money to name a puppy! Our team ultimately voted to name the dog Coty in my honor! She is a beautiful yellow lab and I'm proud to say that Coty graduated in the top 10% of her class and was matched with a Longboat Key resident. I attended their graduation ceremony and the testimonies of all of the dog handlers were deeply touching and inspiring- there were no dry eyes that day. This organization means so much to so many people and I look forward to the continued fundraising events. I'll see you at the walkathon!
