This year, my fundraiser for Southeastern Guide Dogs is dedicated to the memory of my mother “Shankey” Raffel who passed away on January 7, 2023 at the age of 92. 

Southeastern Guide Dogs is an amazing nonprofit organization that provides highly trained guide dogs for the visually impaired and dogs to help veterans with PTSD.  As many of you know, I enjoyed the services of Ethel, my SEGD trained guide dog, for 8 years.  Ethel enabled me to travel and navigate safely, and she was a beloved companion to me, my family, friends, and everyone she met. 

Our goal is to raise $5000 to name a dog “Shankey” in memory of my mom.  We have raised $4,500 — a donation today could help us get over the top.  Thank you!
